Say Good Night Salaams To Your Parents

Well....I am trying to come up with small good deeds that you can adopt and cultivate into a habit. May Allah give me the strength and means to do so, inshallah. So here's the first one for you....

Now remember kids that our parents when we were small, just babies and infants....would not put us to sleep I am sure without a kiss and a loving glace at our faces, before laying us down on the bed.
But as we grow this vanishes somewhere, not because they now don't love us as much as then, but just that we have grown up and such open show of parental love is decreased. Though the love is still there, it is not openly shown as before.

So when now we have grown, why don't we show them the same love that they at once showed towards us. wouldn't that simply overwhelm them?

But how do you do it? Simple just, go over to them while they are about to sleep wish them salaam, give them a kiss and see how happy they would be to see you loving them like this.

To make parents happy is one of the biggest of all good deeds. In their happiness and pleasure lies the pleasure of Allah.

"For your sustainer has ordained that you shall worship none but Him. And do good unto (your) parents. Should one of them, or both, attain to old age in your care, never say "Ugh" to them or scold them, but [always] speak unto them with reverent speech." (Holy Quran 17:23)

Narrated 'Abdullah: I asked the Prophet (pbuh) "Which deed is the dearest to God?" He replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times." I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To be good and dutiful to your parents"...(Bukhari)

May Allah give us the chance and means to be good and dutiful to our parents...Ameen
